Things you can do
8. Play Dress-up
One of the quickest and easiest ways to boost your confidence is to fake it. The best way to do that… Wear one of your favorite outfits, at least one you know it will turn heads. By wearing attire that increases your self confidence you will feel more presentable, secure, successful and in control of your life.
7. Put on a happy face
When you smile the whole world smiles with you. Even if you’ve had a bad day, smile. Slap on a sincere grin. When you see others responding to your jovial attitude, your mood will brighten and it will make you feel better about yourself.
6. Do a good deed
Hold the door for someone, buy coffee for a coworker, offer your seat on the bus to a senior, donate your time with a nonprofit organization, etc. By doing a good deed you will feel better about yourself and the world around you.
5. Challenge yourself
Whether you set out to master a new move on your exercise class or trying to conquer your biggest fear. Challenging yourself to master something and then doing it will give you a huge boost of self confidence.
4. Do something you love
When you are feeling low, it is important to do something you love and feel good doing. Lay on the couch and watch your favorite movie, cook a meal for your friends, take a walk in your neighborhood, etc. By doing something that brings you pleasure you will feel more competent, accomplished and capable of handling anything that comes your way.
3. Stop procrastinating
Join a knitting group or sign up for karate class. If there’s something that you have always been wanting to do, now it is time. Stop procrastinating and get it done. Not only will you feel more confident about making the decision to just do it, you will feel exxcited about learning new things.
Anxiety and stress are very toxic to your physical health and can do serious damage to your self confidence. Relax through yoga, meditation or a simple bubble bath at night. By slowing your brain’s thought pattern you will be less emotional, you will feel calmer and more in control of your life.
1. Celebrate your achievements
Everything you’ve done in your life is an accomplishment, including taking your first steps. Make a list of all the things that make you proud.
